In his professional work he has specialized in contentious administrative matters. His experience covers public service and work performance in the private sector, as well as a close link with academia.

Partner at SAI Law and Economics since February 2018, he represents companies and individuals in administrative, regulatory (telecommunications, broadcasting, hydrocarbons, electricity, among others) and economic competition amparo trials, an activity that he carries out fluently thanks to his continuous practice in addressing matters before the specialized courts of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, since their creation in 2013. He also represents clients before the Federal Economic Competition Commission and the Federal Telecommunications Institute in investigations of monopolistic practices and illicit concentrations.

He has been recognized in the individual ranking of Chambers and Partners Latin America (guides 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019; economic competition law in Mexico), which states about him:

… is singled out for praise by one client, who praises him for being “someone who constantly asks questions to build an accurate picture of the case; he really wants to understand your issues.” He has experience in antitrust matters in the telecommunications sector. His colleagues also praise his abilities as a litigator.

In the public sector, he worked in bodies of the Ministry of the Interior and in the defunct Federal Competition Commission, where he was responsible for the development and negotiation of reform initiatives, including one to structure the challenge of economic competition decisions.

He has been a visiting professor at higher education institutions, such as the National Institute of Criminal Sciences and the Universidad Panamericana, where he has taught, respectively, workshops on legal argumentation to public servants and specific modules on economic competition, both in specialized seminars and in the Master’s degree in Economic Law. He is a professor of Constitutional Procedures in the Bachelor’s degree in Law at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and co-author of two books on economic competition and telecommunications.

He studied law at ITAM, where he graduated with honors.

Currently, he is the General Coordinator of Committees and advisor and member of the National Board of Directors (of which he was second secretary until December 2018) of the National Association of Corporate Lawyers, Colegio de Abogados AC for the period 2019-2020. During the period 2017-2018 he was coordinator of the Economic Competition Committee and in the period 2015-2016 he served as first vice-coordinator of that same committee. Among his functions in this college are the general coordination for the organization of academic events aimed at discussing the most current issues in all subjects, as well as giving lectures in various forums and formulating positions on resolutions, sentences and regulatory projects.
